The People Behind Foundry Road - TRJ
As we are approaching the opening of our roastery, we wanted to celebrate the local trade and crafts people who helped make our new home a reality.
In our first post, we look at TRJ, a family-run Ammanford institution that was founded in 1935 By Thomas Richard Jones, the grandfather of the directors Owain, Dafydd and John.
Originally starting out as a one man band with a set of tools on the back of a motor cycle, Richie Jones set out to build his business, eventually growing to become one of the largest employers in Carmarthenshire.
TRJ work with numerous companies such as Aston Martin and the NHS.
We originally met up with the team to look for a site for our new roastery in the Ammanford area. Dafydd suggested the old workshops opposite their site. This was the perfect location.
Work commenced in November 2017 and consisted of a diverse team of carpenters, joiners, welders, electricians plumbers, plasterers and painters.
We can't thank TRJ enough for their incredible dedication. They worked tirelessly to help us achieve our goal and bring the building to life; a blank canvas for us to create what would be come our new roastery.
The building was handed over to us in June. The fit out stage had began, and work started on moving out of our old roastery and into the new site.
